Lurah Blade: Anointings

Jesus said: "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3.

Lurah Blade never appears to touch on this extremely important facet of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She never mentions sin and yet she talks freely about matters which pertain to those born again and only those. We could live a life holding closely to the scriptures that we like and which we can readily assimilate. That format will not save us because we are attempting to grasp what is God's without understanding what God is saying. We can give advice to people and it may help them, especially when they have problems yet that will not solve their basic problem which is that they are separated from God by their sin. Without being born again they remain in their sinful condition. Being born again means firstly, confessing one's sins (namely that you are a sinner) and secondly asking Jesus to take all your sin upon himself on the cross. There is no other way.

In a youtube video entitled Lurah tells us the following: Some of you have been giving, you've been faithful and you have not seen the manifestation of that, well those things which were bugging you, those things under there eating the things that you went through the process to receive are being exposed, he's going to deal with. I thank God for you, I could go on because I'm excited in my own life even in this hour, even in this time of transition, don't look, don't look to the natural. Be led by the spirit in all things, all things. Look out for the anointing. It is the anointing that is going to be incredible on people and on people's lives. and much more.

Lurah does read the Bible and does quote it extensively but she is obviously bitten by the New Apostolic Reformation bug.

A major tenet of the NAR is that when you experience the "presence fo God" you are saved and have the Holy Spirit. You receive the Holy Spirit when you are born again and only when you are born again. What spirit NAR adherents receive is very worrying. It can only be spirits that are imitating the God's true Holy Spirit

Without the true Holy Spirit things will continue to bug people, things will never seem quite right and nothing will add up to a satisfactory whole. Where in scripture does it say that the things that you went through the process to receive? Sadly, scripture never says that because every good thing comes from God and is freely given. It does however, say In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace Ephesians 1:7. This speaks of a lifelong process of being sanctified as we learn to trust Jesus more and more.

Lurah continues by saying: I'm excited in my own life even in this hour, even in this time of transition, don't look, don't look to the natural. Be led by the spirit in all things, all things. Look out for the anointing. It is the anointing that is going to be incredible on people and on people's lives. Transition means moving from one position to another, but Lurah does not explain it further. It sounds biblical but it is actually an NAR buzzword. But look out here comes the word "anointing". What does it mean? It is a word taken from the Old Testament where it refers to the pouring of oil for sanctifying the priests.

It is only used twice in the New Testament in Acts 10:38 and Mark 6:13. In the latter it sayshow God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil.

In another passage Lurah speaks of a new thing. God is doing a new thing. We must embrace this new thing. Jesus spoke of new wine but he was referring to the New Testament or New Covenant. The New Testament is the new wine. If God was doing a new thing as the NAR proclaim then surely the Bible would tell us so? The Bible remains silent. Lurah talks earlier on the video about deception yet this is deception itself because it is misleading people.
