Lana Vawser: Astray

Last month Lana Vawser, a member of the Australian Prophetic Council, wrote that the battle was over and God is recompensing the warriors who took part. That article appears on the Elijah List and can be read in full here. Only one month later she writes hereThe REASON the enemy has intensified his attack of fear over physical issues/random/weird symptoms is because I am NOW RESTORING YOUR HEALTH, bringing MAJOR breakthrough and ALIGNMENT. Repent of aligning with fear and trust Me and KNOW that what is before you is strength, restoration of body and increase. DISAGREE with his lies and MAGNIFY ME! here. None of this is scriptural and it can only be said that Lana Vawser is deceiving many people.

If people are suffering as she states in her article, it is because they are listening to Lana Vawser. So what is the real truth about the problems one is having? The real truth lies in the Bible and not some word which Lana Vawser has somehow conjured out of thin air and proclaims that it is a word from God. It simply flies in the face of the Word of God. So what is the Bibles answer to all those suffering with problems.

The truth can be found in the Old Testament. Then Amalek came and fought against Israel at Rephidim. So Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand." Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set. Exodus 17 vv9-11 NASB. This is the true picture of the spiritual battle that we will encounter. What is the Bible's answer? LOOK TO THE CROSS! When we look to the cross we will prevail against the enemy.

Instead we get Lana Vawser fortune telling. It is a mystical blur of nothingness.

If you question why we should look to the cross then you are not born again. For many this is the old-fashioned way yet, it is as relevant today as it was to the disciples nearly 2000 years ago. It has no sell-by date. Listening to a modern preacher saying God is doing a new thing does not render it old-fashioned or out-dated. That preacher is a deceiver through and through. It was God's plan of salvation from the beginning of time. So, what is it to be born again?

Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3 v3. So if you are not born again then you have no part in the Kingdom of God. You are a member of Satan's kingdom and dead in your sins. Everyone one of us on this planet is a sinner. No-one except Jesus has ever been able (nor ever will be) to keep God's holy law. On the Day of Judgement you will be found guilty and your sentence? Hell.

So how are we born again? There another similar picture: Jesus continued and said: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; John 3 v14. Let us go the cross-reference which Jesus himself gives us and there we find the following story: Then they set out from Mount Hor by the way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the people became impatient because of the journey. The people spoke against God and Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food." The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. So the people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us." And Moses interceded for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live." And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived. Numbers 21 vv6-9 NASB This story is a picture of being born again. Jesus himself tells us that it represents himself on the cross, but you see not a man but a serpent. Why? you may ask.

It was the serpent which beguiled Eve in the Garden of Eden and the image of the serpent represents every sin that was ever committed or will ever be committed. The Apostle Paul wrote He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2Corinthians 5 v21. For the people of Israel it was when a person looked up at the serpent which Moses was holding that they were saved. Anyone who did not look up died. Only when we look up at the cross and see our own sin carried by Jesus can we be saved. Seeing him carrying our sin and making us righteous in God's eyes by our repentence and setting Jesus as the Lord and Saviour in our lives will we be saved.

You can now see that for the born-again Christian the cross is absolutely essential to our lives. It is where, first we see our Saviour saving us and to where secondly, as Christians we bring all our Amalekites. What are the Amalekites? Every problem, every temptation, every decision, every falsehood, every sin, every deceiver that we face is an Amalekite. That list is by no means exhaustive. If a preacher does not point you to the cross of Jesus then that preacher is a deceiver. Sadly, Lana Vawser is a deceiver. 18th December 2018 >
