There is an area of deception which Zedekiah List has barely touched. It is that of informal prophecy on YouTube and and other devices. The format is simple. The "prophet" gives words purportedly from the Lord and the viewer is requested to support that ministry with money. A further area of raising money is to offer personal words to people, again purportedly from the Lord. One name for this is Simony. It is akin to fortune-telling. Is it possible that these words from the Lord? Let's examine them and see.
Kevin Bridges on his video dated 2nd October 2019 found here states: You are standing at the threshold of something. Tomorrow marks the beginning of October and yet today is the beginning of the Jewish new year. Today is the beginning of a new Jewish decade. The Lord says to you, "You are standing at the threshold, standing at the tip of the iceberg. There are many things that are happening and are about to happen that will shake you to the core, that will shake you to the core in a good way for I am coming with trumpets blasts. I am coming coming to bring newness of life. It is a new beginning."
Well what could be wrong with that? The first problem, which many may not have noticed is that he is using omens to develop his theme. The Bible strictly forbids us using omens or any other form of divination. In the Old Testament this would result in the death of that person or persons who used such divination. These omens are found in the second sentence which says: You are standing at the threshold of something. Tomorrow marks the beginning of October and yet today is the beginning of the Jewish new year. Today is the beginning of a new Jewish decade." If this a word from the Lord then why does the Lord use omens which he has strictly forbidden? The second point is when he says: The Lord says to you, "You are standing at the threshold, standing at the tip of the iceberg." This is simply a muddle. How can you stand on a threshold and on an iceberg at the same time? Is there a door somewhere on top of the iceberg?Thirdly he says: There are many things that are happening and are about to happen that will shake you to the core, that will shake you to the core in a good way for I am coming with trumpets blasts. I am coming coming to bring newness of life. It is a new beginning." Does Kevin know something about Jesus' return at the sound of a trumpet which the rest of us don't know? No.
Fourthly he says: I am coming coming to bring newness of life. It is a new beginning." Well, this is more scriptural but is Kevin speaking to Christians, because if so, they already have the new life that Jesus died on the cross to give us. The new beginning occured if and when the receiver of Kevin's prophecy became born again.
God's salvation plan is clearly laid out in the Bible. Jesus, the Son of God came to earth with a specific purpose or mission. He died on a wooden cross and his last words were "It is finished". We are all sinners. We all break God's laws probably more often than one might realise. We lie. We lust for things we have not got and which someone else has got. We swear. We grumble against God and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
We are all in need of the Saviour and when we both confess our sins and forsake our sins we are born again. Jesus becomes the Lord and master of our lives and we look forward to a life with him in Heaven. But, hey, there is no other new beginning. How do we forsake our sins? By nailing them to his cross. Paul wrote: God made him who knew no sin to become sin for us. 2Cor5:21.Why waste money buying blessings and promises which you could have for free, by simply sitting down with a Bible and reading it.
