Ken Malone: Dreams

Ken Malone gives a dramatic expose of what is wrong with the Charistmatic movement. It is also an expose of what is wrong in America today. You can read the article here on the Elijah List. The Charismatic movement has become the main organ for the dissemination of "Biblical Truth". However, their idea of "Biblical Truth" falls short of what Biblical Truth actually is.

First of all, it must be stated that the Charismatic Movement has a false Gospel; a false Soteriology; a false Pneumatology; a false Escatology and much, much more. America and much of the Western World has had these falsehoods foisted on them through books and the internet. The consequence is that the Bible has been opened to ridicule, with the result that its impact on the world has been diminished. For instance, Paul wrote: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened. Romans 1:18-22 NASB. These words from Paul describe the world as it is today and sadly, they are beginning to describe the Charismatic Movement and where it is heading.

Ken Malone says: This groaning, however, was truly born of the Spirit. Holy Spirit was calling men to give birth to the greatest move of God in America's history. he also says: I then heard the Lord say, 'I'm calling MEN to birth revival in this nation through prayer. This is the game-changer. Nowhere in scripture is revival brought about by groaning - it is brought about by preaching the true Gospel.

Where is the Gospel preached? Certainly, not on the Elijah List. Does their idea of the function of the Holy Spirit accord with scripture? No. The entire New Testament was written by people who had met Jesus in the flesh. Can anyone on the Elijah List claim to have met Jesus in the flesh? The answer to this question is obviously no. Yet they claim to have new revelation, which can only mean that they are adding to scripture and will ultimately mean that they will have to face the consequences for it. See Revelation 22: 18-19. The Holy Spirit was and is given to each person who was born again. He is given for the encouragement and guidance of that believer and not for making big pronouncements (or so-called prophecy).

America has lost the beauty and simplicity of the Gospel and consequently there is a rise in every foulness, which Satan encourages. There is no longer a moral compass which can only come from the Body of Christ. The temptation to prophesy seems to have more to do with elevating the prophet than elevating Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
