Katie Souza: The Courts of Heaven

Katie Souza informs us on the Elijah List here saying: According to Hebrews 12, the Blood is in the court testifying on our behalf. That's why if we go to court, if we show up, we can't lose. It says that in the court of Zion, is the judge of all the earth, Jesus, the mediator, the new covenant.

Hebrews 12 begins: Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses ... and ends ... For our God is a consuming fire. Nowhere in between verses 1 and 29 of Hebrews 12 is a Court of Zion or Court of Heaven mentioned. Yet she goes on to say These are all legal court terms, and the Blood is there that speaks a better testimony. How do you give testimony? You do it as a witness in court. So when the enemy goes into the heavenly court, and we go up to meet him, the Blood is there to say, "See that big, old pile of stuff that you've got? It's all under the Blood!" But we have to show up to court. Otherwise, we have given up our right to win.

Katie is concerned that we should go to the Courts of Heaven and plead our case against Satan. If we don't do so then we lose. This is plain unbiblical nonsense since even Hebrews 12 says otherwise telling us and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24 NASB.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about one person, Jesus Christ. It starts in Genesis 1 v1 and continues through to Revelation 22 v16. It describes how Jesus has overcome Satan through his death on the cross. If Satan can accuse us in any court and win then Jesus's last words which he uttered before he died on the cross It is finished. John 19:30 are futile. This would make Jesus a liar and his death would have been of absolutely no value. As the Apostle Paul writes: Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.1Cor 15:12-22 NASB.

It seems that a quick Bible Study is in order. Speaking to Nicodemus Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."John 3:3. What does it mean to be born again? Jesus never explained it in John chapter 3 but did give Nicodemus the Bible reference for being born again when he said: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up. John 3:14 NASB. This can be found in the Old Testament: The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. So the people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us." And Moses interceded for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live." And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived. Numbers 21:6-9.

When we look to the cross of Jesus and see our sin on that cross then we are saved, that is, we are born again. If you have never seen your sin on the cross then you are not saved. Thus on Judgement Day you will be in the true Courts of Heaven, accused by Satan and found guilty. If, however, you have been saved then you will have a mediator, interceding for you and his name is Jesus.
