Steven Springer: Preparing for this New Era
Can we have visions of God the Father? According to Steven Springer we can. He writes: here on the Elijah List saying The other day, I had a vision of the Father with His arms open wide, and He was calling His sons from afar, and His daughters from the ends of the earth. He was receiving them all, even ones the Church has written off!Why is God calling his sons and daughters now? Surely he has been calling his children ever since Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. This presents a problem since what Steven is saying does not tie up with scripture. Yet, it isn't a problem when one considers that Steven is presenting an untested vision. How he came by this vision he does not say, but since it contains a message which is at variance to scripture it should have been tested and thrown out.
In point of fact, according to scripture, every dream and vision should be thrown out. I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!' How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their minds? They think the dream they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship. Let the prophet who has a dream, tell his dream, but let one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the Lord. "Is not my word like fire," declares the Lord, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?" Jeremiah 23 vv25-29. One can hear the protests that Steven is not prophesying lies. However these verses say Let the prophet who has a dream, tell his dream, but let one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the Lord. The implication is clear: there is a difference between telling a dream, which this scripture says is delusions of their minds, and speaking forth God's true word.
Let us continue by considering what Steven says next: The Father is bringing in some of the least likely people of incredible influence and key leaders from the spheres of society! I also really sense the new-agers have God's bull's-eye on them in this season of harvest! During this vision, I could feel the energy and excitement of Heaven and earth for the season of restoring relationship and the multitudes coming home to the Father's arms. Steven is a dominionist of such awesomeness that he is, according to his piece on the Elijah List an emerging Apostolic Leader and the Senior Leader of Global Presence Ministries, along with his wife Rene. He also serves as an adviser to XPmedia and is part of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders led by Cindy Jacobs. Sadly, anyone associated with Cindy Jacobs must come immediately under suspicion. After all, both Cindy Jacobs and XPmedia have proven track records of false prophecies. Dominionists believe in an end-times scenario which cannot be found in scripture. They have arrived at this point using their feelings and because they sense that something is right so it must be. This is simply adding to scripture and are deluding others to follow their goose bumps.
Steven also mentions the spheres of society which is a reference to the seven mountains which must be conquered in order that the Apostolic Council of Elders can rule the world! Of course, their message is popular because they are saying you can have riches now which blatantly flies in the face of Jesus' words on many occasions according to the gopel writers. One example of this is Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6 vv 19-20. Scripture tells us that the harlot sits on seven mountains (Ouch!) You can read it in Revelation 17 verses 1-9.
Steven then says: At one point I saw the Father look at Jesus with a huge smile, and He said, "This is your reward, Son!" Yes, Jesus will return with his reward according to Isaiah 40 v10 and Isaiah 62 v11, but did God say the words that Steven ascribes to Him? The emphatic answer is "No", those words are not found scripture. This might sound trivial but it isn't because Steven is adding to scripture. He has dreams and visions and suddenly he is presenting a ideas which do not exist in scripture.
Later Steven prophecies that There is coming an outpouring of His presence, favor, and power - unto the multitude being saved! It is time to sharpen the sickle and mend the nets! Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety", destruction will come upon them suddenly, as labour pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 1Thessalonians 5 vv1-3. Firstly, dominionists believe that there will be a massive revival, which will bring in the money needed for taking over governments. Eventually evil will be quashed and so one day they will invite Jesus to return and reign over the earth. If Jesus is to return like a thief in the night then these words cannot be true. Secondly, we can see all around us how politicians and the media are crying out for peace and one day they will say "Peace and safety" and then ... . This is the Biblical picture.
No, we cannot have visions of God the Father and remain faithful to God's written word. God is no longer adding to scripture and therefore Steven's words cannot be included in the canon of scripture. Believe the words of a dreamer at your peril or believe scripture for your assurance of salvation. It is a simple choice which we each have to make.
