The Little Children Suffer

A misconception, which is actively encouraged by deceivers, regarding discernment ministries is that they are against people. "Touch not the Lord's anointed," they cry. Discernment ministries are only doing what every ministry should be doing and that is ensuring that everything that is being said, especially when preaching, is biblical. This should be a matter of personal requirement for every Christian, especially those in leadership. Yet discernment ministries are branded as "heresy hunters" and ignored and abused accordingly. It is not the people or personalities that concern those in discernment ministries, it is what is being said and to whom it is being said, which is the major concern.

The following is a case in point. Patricia King heads up a ministry called Extreme Prophetic. It is inaptly named; since when is a true prophecy not extreme? From the Extreme Prophetic website here is a video by Becky Fisher which gives immediate cause for concern. View the video here or read a transcript of the video here.

Leaving aside all the theological issues raised in this two minute video, the entire illustration collapses when Becky Fisher helps the boy don the gold robe on top of the red robe. She is demonstrating "salvation" to a group of children by dressing a boy, who first removes a black robe and then dons a red robe, which is followed by a gold robe. The boy finds this whole thing so difficult that Becky helps him put it all on! Then she finishes the video by saying: God is not going to do it for you. This is the lesson of Christianity.

Now, most bibles, no, all bibles contain the parable of the Lost Sheep. Clearly the owner, in this parable, is the person of whom Jesus says: I am the good shepherd. John 10 v14 and refers to himself. Now here's a question raised by the parable found in Matthew 18 vv10-14: If a sheep is lost and it is found by its owner then how much of the safe return to the flock is due to the sheep and how much to the shepherd? The answer is zero to the sheep and 100% to the shepherd. Yet Becky Fisher tells these children that: they must throw off the darkness and they must put on a robe of blood, whatever that means and finally they have to put on the robe of glory! Becky Fisher here, has totally reversed the meaning of Jesus' own words! So God is not going to do it for you. Is not the lesson of Christianity! The reverse is actually the truth - God did it for us!

Throughout the video what Becky teaches is unbiblical. This was not being said to a group of theological students, who may have discerning minds, but to children. The bible teaching is absolutely clear that All have sinned and come short of the glory of God Romans 3 v23. When Adam sinned we all became sinners, before we were even born! We needed a saviour, whom God provided in the person of his Son, Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2 v8. So God's provision for us was also put in place before we were born! God's provision is the grace, and all we need to do is to believe and trust in the Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Yet none of this is present in what Becky Fisher says. Nowhere does scripture speak of a black robe or a red robe or a gold robe which we must put on to gain salvation. It should also be noted that several times in scripture a red robe depicts a person's sins - Isaiah 1 v18. So the poor boy in the video should be taking off a red robe and putting on a white one!

Becky eventually tells us where her beliefs lie. She is actually encouraging these children to become Manifested Sons of God. These "christians" will do great miracles, signs and wonders and eventually reach immortality. The idea for this comes from a corruption of a scripture, which says: I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. Romans 8 vv18-19. The corruption is in the last five words which are altered to read "... expectation of the Manifest Sons of God". The true Sons of God are those who return with Jesus at his second coming. Read Revelation 19 verses 11-15.

Put on the glory, so they are in unity and the power of God is going forth. The latest fad appears to be the "glory" and "living in the glory". Neither concept has any basis in scripture. The only person who put on glory in the bible was Jesus at the transfiguration and again in Revelation chapter 1. Is Becky encouraging these children to think that they are equal to God? As an aside, this is why discernment ministries are vilified because they are not in unity and therefore the power of God is going forth will not happen.

There is no reason to suppose that Becky Fisher is anything other than pleasant, friendly, good company, willing to help and much more and someone who you might be glad to know and call a friend, but the words she has uttered in this video means that she has presented to these youngsters a works-orientated salvation, and not the gospel of Jesus Christ. She has presented these children with another Jesus.

If you agree that Becky Fisher's words are found wanting, then you are a part of the discernment ministries. If enough people were to join this ministry then, perhaps, we might witness a true revival.
