Johnny Enlow: The Beginning of the Age of Restoration

Charismatics have yet to see the seriousness of having a word from the Lord. Aside from the verses in Deuteronomy chapter 18 regarding false prophets Zedekiah List has, among others drawn attention to the seriousness of "words from the Lord". If it is a true "word from the Lord" then it ranks equally with scripture. This means that it is scripture! It may not have been said in the Bible but those words will carry the same weight and have the same importance as scripture itself.

If a "word from the Lord" is given, it must first be tested. It should be tested by the giver and the receivers. The question is: How do you test it? The answer is: it is tested against scripture. There exists no other writings by which it can be tested, otherwise these writings would have been included in the canon of scripture. If a "word from the Lord" says something contrary to scripture then clearly that word is not from the Lord and must be disregarded. If that word says something which is not contrary to scripture but cannot be proven by scripture then it is adding to scripture. Again it must be disregarded. Why can we not add to scripture? I warn everyone who hears the words of prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. Revelation 22 v1. Most theologians regard book as being the whole Bible and not just the Book of Revelation. So the self-appointed prophet stands not in God's good favour but according to Revelation, in the face of dreadful judgement.

There are good reasons why the Bible is so strong on this point. When a "word from the Lord" is given and it contains something "new" it will ultimately lead into error and deception. This will always be the result of mixing truth with error and can never be otherwise. Truth will and must stand on its own and cannot be mixed with error. When truth and error are mixed, truth becomes error. This movement into error is a "domino effect". The error of one piece being knocked over leads inexorably to the second piece being knocked down and so on. The only way out when error has occurred, is through repentance. Many people with discernment ministries came out of error and their desire is not to create havoc and disunity within the Body of Christ but rather to demonstrate what is error so that other Christians either recognise error or step out of error.

Dominionism is one field where the dominoes can almost be traced to particular persons at very specific moments. For instance, we read here In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. During that same time frame Francis Schaeffer was given a similar message. That message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society. The fact that all three claim to have had the same message almost simultaneously is irrelevant. It might have produced goose bumps on all three of them but this "word from the Lord" should have been thoroughly tested against scripture. It has not been tested because it would have failed the test since it is adding considerably to scripture.

Another dominionist domino toppled over when C. Peter Wagner produced his Spiritual Warfare idea. His ideas were not based on sound scriptural principles but on pragmatism - if it works then use it. Unfortunately Wagner and many others have borrowed their ideas from paganism and are today encouraging Christians to become witch-doctors. Now, that is some deception!

So the Seven Mountains of Culture are going to be conquered by using Peter Wagner's spiritual Warfare techniques. This means that the world is going to hand over its wealth to Dominionists who, in turn will use it to usher in the Kingdom of God. When this is complete Jesus is going to be invited to come and rule on earth. To put the whole thing another way: one day the sheep are going to invite the shepherd to be their shepherd.

All this means that there are thousands of people who are caught up in dominionism who have not got a clue that they are being deceived and have probably never heard the true gospel spoken. Johnny Enlow is one who has been completely taken in by dominionism when he says here There has been an amazing awakening into this expanded view of who God is. He is not just God the Redeemer (mountain of religion); but He is God the Governing One (mountain of government), God the Creative One (mountain of arts/entertainment), God who is Papa (mountain of family), God the Provider (mountain of economy), God the Blessed Communicator (mountain of media), and God as Wise Teacher (mountain of education). It is dominionists who have invented this expanded view of God. It is not the Bible that's for sure. Notice also that Calvary is relegated to one seventh of the seven mountains concept.

Of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Johnny says Gospel of salvation focus, does not allow for gospel of the kingdom focus. Revival focus does not allow for reformation focus. The whole of scripture is about one event, that is, Jesus's death on the cross and his resurrection, which Johnny facetiously calls salvation focus. It does not matter whether we look at the Old or the New Testament, whether it is Genesis or Revelation, the Bible is dominated by one person, Jesus Christ the Son of God. Our salvation is about being saved from sin, since we are all born sinners. Once we are saved then, as born-again Christians we should be passing that good news on to others. Jesus said to his disciples Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching then to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28 vv19-20. This is the God-given task for the Body of Christ in this age, the Times of the Gentiles - not inventing objectives and methodologies for building a fictitious kingdom.

We are still in the Times of the Gentiles (see Luke 21 v24) so come on Bill Bright, Loren Cunningham, Francis Schaeffer, Peter Wagner, Johnny Enlow and a host of other dominionists; explain why you are deceiving many with your damnable theology.
