Eileen Fisher: Confusion

Sometimes one reads a script and the mind looses its grip on what the author is trying to say. Zedekiah List is probably no exception. However, when that confusion is theological then a host of problems arise. Take Eileen Fisher's latest article on the Elijah List as an example.

This article is entitled There's a Multitude of Changes Coming In the Lives of His Own. So Eileen is addressing born again Christians because these are the people who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. They and they alone are His Own. These are the people whom the Lord has chosen and called, who have been cleansed from sin and given the in-dwelling Holy Spirit. So why then does Eileen say that the Lord is saying: And I'm going to release over you the Spirit of Comfort, that will deposit healing into your mind, and hope back into your hearts. If you are born-again then you have the Holy Spirit - so why is the Lord now releasing the Holy Spirit? Remember? the Holy Spirit was released on the day of Pentecost, so when did the removal of the Holy Spirit happen such that he should be released again now? Secondly, why then will the Holy Spirit deposit healing in your mind. Your mind as a Christian was changed when you were born again according to scripture. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2Corinthians 5 v17

Eileen then tells us Come out of the world. Come in to My Spirit. For I long to talk to you, Spirit to spirit, heart to heart, so you will learn to rise up on hind's feet to high mountains, to the new vision, to the new pathway, to the new purposes, blessings, and provisions. Provision is so at hand, but you must be close enough to receive it. Draw near to Me, and I have promised, I will draw near to you. True Christians have come out of the world and into the Spirit. But here Eileen's theology falls apart when she says Provision is so at hand, but you must be close enough to receive it. Draw near to Me, and I have promised, I will draw near to you. So Eileen produces a gospel of works. We must do something in order that the Lord will respond. Here we find that Eileen's theology has become totally confusing.

Eileen Fisher is not getting her theology from the Bible. Because she believes she is a prophet, she is listening to voices which she believes is the Holy Spirit speaking, but it is not. These voices build her theology which, of course, fails because the canon of scripture is closed. The end result is confusion. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.1Corinthians 14 v33.

OK, so what is a born again Christian? The Lord is drawing all men to himself. He is issuing an invitation to all. This invitation begins with Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me. Revelation 3 vv19-20. Without repentance that door will remain closed. It does not require you to go forward and receive hands being laid on you at some raucous meeting, where you will probably be told "If you feel the presence of God then you are saved". That is total nonsense, since the gospel requires no work on your part. There is a spiritual work, which is to believe. Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works that God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." John 6 vv28-29. This is what the earliest protestants found and it so radically changed their lives that they were willing to die for Jesus and in fact many did die. If they had been confused in their theology they would have recanted and would not have died.
