The question we have to ask ourselves is "Was Jesus judged enough for our sin." If you don't know the answer to that then your experience of God is extremely deficient and you may not even be saved. Another question is "Was Jesus punished enough for sin." If the answer to those two questions is "yes", if Jesus was judged enough for sin then there is no place for judgement in this life. So between Calvary, which was judgement on Jesus once and for all for the sins of mankind between that day and the day of judgement there is no place for judgement in this world because the difference now is not about saved and unsaved, which is a horrible definition. It's not about, even really about christian and pre-christian. The issue is between those who are reconciled and those who are redeemed. The Bible says in 2Corinthians 5 v19 that "God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself not holding their transgressions against them." Yeah. So really what we are facing today is the fact that the church is a redeemed community in a reconciled society.

I want you to sense the Holy Spirit brooding over you. Is this too good to be true? You betcha, it’s the good news. Does He border on fantasy? You betcha, it’s the gospel. Glad tidings of great joy, heaven has come instead of hell, Jesus has come instead of the devil. You can have the life you always wanted, instead of the life you have always had–instead. That is possible because of the absolute, incredible, incomparable favor of God.
