Bobby Conner: Finders Will Be Sought!

Just think of a catchy line or sentence and hey presto you have a title and subject for an Elijah List article. Such, it would seem is what Bobby Conner has done with Seekers Will Be Finders! And Finders Will Be Sought! You can read the full article here on the Elijah List. These were the words written in big letters on a billboard in a dream Bobby had. These words were simply a good lead into what Bobby really wanted to say. Just like Theresa Phillips a day before in her article here Bobby is announcing the arrival of the new breed or Joel's Army of Latter Rain theology. Bobby is another person who is happily adding to scripture and ignoring the warnings given in scripture for so doing (see Revelation 22 v8).

Does this one liner make sense? Seekers will become finders. That fits with scripture which says: seek and you will find Matthew 7 v7b. But if the seekers find, then they become finders. However, according to Bobby Finders will be sought. Does he mean that there are no seekers and so seekers, who will eventually become finders are being sought now? Is there some mystery here that is being missed? It is all just words!

Bobby next says: This is the most exciting time in world history to be alive; the entire world seems to be in chaos and confusion, and desperately they are seeking answers. Yes, the world may be seeking answers but not from the church. According to scripture: There is no-one righteous, not even one; there is no-one who understands, no-one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no-one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves: their tongues practise deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Romans 3 vv11-18. The Apostle Paul quotes eight Old Testament verses which tell us that the world is not going to come knocking at the church's door.

Secondly, how can the Church help the world when the church itself is riven with unscriptural compromise. Churches have fallen prey to liberal theology and are on the cusp of allowing women preachers; accepting homosexuals (plus the rest of the LGBT agenda); cuddling up to a Roman Catholic Pope; embracing eastern mysticism and appear happy to override scripture with apparent nonchalance. Since the church cannot make up its mind regarding very clear-cut scriptural issues, it forfeits any right to produce answers to other issues, certainly in the world's eyes. Add to this the freakish behaviour of much of the church, which appears to spend its time laughing or making animal noises whilst rolling about on the floor and the world should be forgiven for thinking the church is a mad-house.

Thirdly, what advice does the church have for the world? It only has the Gospel of Jesus Christ to give the world. Bobby then says: This will prove to be the Church's finest hour. Sorry, Bobby this is the church's worst hour. Bobby is clearly wearing rose-coloured spectacles and manages to add: The world will beat a path to our door seeking the Light. Sorry Bobby the world won't come near the church.

The true prophets of God must arise and take their place. Sounding a true and trusted trumpet call awakening the warriors and calling for the army of God to arise (see Joel 2:1-3). So it is Joel's Army that Bobby is referring to. Joel chapter 2 describes an army which will be the largest army the world has seen or ever will see. a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come. verse 2. Nothing can stop it and it lays waste everything before it Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them a desert waste-nothing escapes them. verse 3. Eventually we reach verse 10 which says Before them the earth shakes, the sky trembles, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine. The Lord thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The day of the Lord is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it? verses 10-11. The verses following are an appeal for repentance and returning to the Lord. Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly, The nation being called to repentance is Israel since Zion is a name specific to Israel. Besides it cannot be the true church that is being called to repentance, since that is composed of persons who have repented so they don't need the largest army the world will ever see, to make them repent.

So who is this army with the Lord at its head? Consider these verses: Then say to them, "This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel says: I will send my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will set his throne over these stones I have buried here; he will spread his royal canopy above them. He will come and attack Egypt, bringing death to those destined for death, captivity to those destined for captivity, and the sword to those destined for the sword." Jeremiah 43 vv10-11. Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem and took captive most of the Israelites and all the treasures in the temple and yet God calls him "my servant". This means that Nebuchadnezzar's army was the Lord's army. Whilst Nebuchadnezzar brought death, destruction and captivity on Israel, Egypt and all the surrounding countries this army was doing the Lord's purposes. The Lord is no coward to hide behind someone else's war and claim afterwards that the death and destruction wrought at that time had the purpose of judgement. In fact, Babylon was also in rebellion to God and Nebuchadnezzar himself was an idolator. So in the similar case of Joel's army it's purpose is to do the Lord's bidding which is to attack Israel, according to Joel. In fact its purpose was far greater: It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number. Revelation 9 vv14-16. Are Christians really supposed to be a part of such an army? Remember, the Lord said Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you Matthew 5 v44. If you believe that Christians are a part of Joel's army then you believe in a Christ who is capable of issuing contradictory commands and that Christ is no christ at all.

Bobby Conner sees Joel's army in a completely different light, Political leaders from around the world will be coming to the true Church seeking wisdom and advice; we, too, must have the Word of the Lord that will leave them breathless and amazed. The Joel's army Christians would also be taking the seven mountains of business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion. The methodology to accomplish this will be C.Peter Wagner's spiritual warfare techniques of identifying and removing the ruling demons and demonic high places. Has nobody told these people that this is exactly what witchdoctors do?

The calling of Christians is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and at no point in the New Testament is this command revoked. In other words, the Church of Jesus Christ must preach the gospel until Jesus returns. The gospel of Jesus Christ is summed up by the Apostle Paul who wrote: For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1Corinthians 15 vv3-5. Nowhere in that summary is there a call to deal with demons or to give advice to the world.
