Bill Yount: 'Tis the Season to Ride Broncos and Bulls

Bill Yount has seen fit to republish a word he wrote in 2005. You can read the whole of his article entitled Rodeo Angels are Being Released...'Tis the Season to Ride Broncos and Bulls here. Now you may ask, what has this to do with scripture? Well some of us did anyway! To give you some idea of what he has written here are the sub-headings: Rodeo Angels are Being Released...'Tis the Season to Ride Broncos and Bulls; "I Am Shaking the Grandstands to Shake My People onto the Field of Their Dreams!"; "It's Time to Grab the Bull by the Horns...It's Time to Get Back on Your Bull that Threw You Off!"; "Fear Not...You Are About to Ride With the One Who Rides a White Horse...His Name is Faithful and True to You!". His final line in this article, believe it or not, is: I am reminded that the people who get their face on Wheaties boxes often get up one more time than they fall down. Only then are many known as champions.

This is totally serious. Bill Yount is trying to encourage people who have faced great difficulties to get up and carry on. It seems that Bill saw all this in a vision, probably after spending a day at a rodeo. You see charismatics long ago got on their horses and rode off into the sunset away from the scriptural landscape. Theirs is a landscape where angels can be called Rodeo Angels and they say things like: "It's Time to Grab the Bull by the Horns...It's Time to Get Back on Your Bull that Threw You Off!" It is a landscape where: I then saw this arena filling up with rodeo angels and a great cloud of witnesses standing in the grandstands of glory cheering God's people on to overcome great odds that were stacked against them. doesn't make you bust your sides with laughter because it is serious. I sensed one rodeo angel saying to another, "Heavenly 'Super Bowls' are coming to earth for God's people. By facing their fears many will overcome the agony of defeat and will accomplish great exploits, as the world fills up the grandstands to watch the Glory of God come upon them."

A sure sign that the wheels have come off is when we reach the creek of semi-peligianism. Jesus said: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11 v28. Our problems can be dealt with by Jesus, if we bring them to him. Bill Yount lays down conditions such as: "It's Time to Get Back on Your Bull that Threw You Off!" This is a work, which, in Bill's semi-pelagian charismatic theology, will bring us to the point where we have overcome the obstacle or problem we face.

The choice is here for your to make. Which do you want?: a Jesus, who will lovingly wait for you; or the worldly psycho-babble dreamed up by Bill Yount.
